Say hello to Earful
We’re excited to share what we’ve been building: Earful, an open-source voice survey tool that lets people answer questions by talking — and uses AI to turn those replies into something you can actually use.
The problem with the text box
Ask an open-ended question in a normal survey and most people leave it blank, or type “n/a”. It’s not that they have nothing to say — it’s that typing a thoughtful answer is work. So we lose the most valuable feedback there is: honest, specific, in-their-own-words responses.
What Earful does
Earful flips the interaction. Respondents tap record and simply speak. From there, the AI takes over:
- Transcription — clean, readable text from every spoken reply.
- Summaries & insights — per-answer summaries plus recurring themes and sentiment across your whole audience.
- Translation — replies in any language, readable in yours.
The result is the depth of a real conversation at the scale of a survey.
Open source from day one
Earful is open source and self-hostable. Run it yourself, keep your data, inspect how everything works, and shape where it goes next.
